How to succeed – follow the example of successful people

What is the secret to success? How do successful people become successful? How do you succeed? These questions have been asked for centuries. Thousands of books, videos, and seminars make “How to Succeed” their theme. How to succeed in business, how to succeed in relationships, how to succeed in school, and so on are the topics of many meetings and conferences as well.

Successful people know that the key to success is to find out what they are good at doing and they focus on that. What they aren’t so great at doing, they work with people who are good at doing what they can’t do and add them to their team. They find their weaknesses and reinforce them with people who can strengthen them.

Successful people don’t worry about hoarding their wisdom, knowledge, and resources but they do the opposite. They train people to be their best in what they love to do and can do easily. They develop people and add them to their team and inner circle. They network with them and follow them. They learn from others as well as help them to improve. The relationships that successful people have are mutual. Everyone pulls their weight and everyone receive greats rewards on many levels. It’s teamwork.

Successful people know how to be good leaders. Leadership is an ongoing process of learning and growing and developing people. Good leaders help others to succeed as they use what they are good at doing in order to help those around them to be better at what they do best. Good leaders are always learning from those they lead.

So how to succeed? Find those who have succeeded and are successful in the areas that you want to succeed in. Then follow their Tweets, connect with them at social networking sites, and learn about them. Get to know these types of people online and in person. Use them as your mentor and contribute to them. Ask questions, follow their posts, pay attention to their surveys.

Most importantly, know what you are good at doing. Be excellent in what you love to do. Admit to what you’re not so good at doing. Then find those who are good at these things and get to know them. Assist them by using your passion and expertise as you learn from them and help to develop them as you work on learning and developing yourself.
