In this crazy, busy, stressful life with so many responsibilities and increasing stress, it’s difficult to find time to do simply nothing. Long are the days when you can just sit back in our recliner and stare out the window. It’s hard to find time just to spread out a blanket on the lawn and stare at the clouds passing by as you try to figure out what shapes they are creating.
The craziness of the rat race leaves hardly any opportunity to find pure, simple joy. Everything may seem to demand your time, energy, and resource. Many times you may find that you’re pushed and pulled in all kinds of directions. Then life gets thrown out of whack. Nothing is done with quality as it’s all about quantity.
This is the time when you should set outside whatever you need to put aside to find spare time to find that simple joy in life again. Even if it’s only for a few minutes throughout the day, taking time to stop the craziest, the demands, and the responsibilities will help to bring joy back into your life.
As the years go on and the demands become greater, it seems that the joy is lost in what you love to do, the joy in your relationships are diminishing, and you may even find yourself losing interest in what you once loved to do. This calls for some stepping back to revaluate where things have gone wrong.
Usually what has gone wrong is that there is too much on your plate and you need to unload that plate and do less. Slowly down for a while, taking some time for you, and making time for your family, SO, and/or friends will bring that fast pace back to something manageable and life won’t seem overwhelming.
In this culture and age of technology where things change and move at warp speed, you have to plan and guard your free time so that you can, once again, experience the pure simple joy of life.
